Driving Instructions

So that the driving fun can start right away, you will receive detailed driving instructions from our driver on site, or an introduction to your new vehicle. The employee will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Of course, we will take the packaging of your vehicle back with us.

If you have not yet ridden your scooter, we recommend that you first practice in a safe place without traffic. An ADAC practice area is particularly suitable for this. There you can practice different traffic situations such as turning. When you have developed a feeling of security for your vehicle, you can switch to the road.

While driving, please pay attention to the following points:
- Ride extremely carefully, especially at the beginning, and make sure that you always keep your hands on the handlebars and that both feet are on the footboard.
- There are certain rules to be observed when braking. Most of the load on the bike rests on the rear wheel. In the course of the braking process, however, the wheel load is shifted to the front wheel due to the inertia. It is therefore important that you apply the rear brake (left) quickly and firmly. On the other hand, you should only apply the front brake (right) lightly and then press it harder later in order to counteract the shifting of the vehicle's weight. Also make sure that you brake properly. That means, for example, that you do not only brake in the curve, but rather beforehand. - Always be aware of the risk of aquaplaning in your driving style. It is about sliding on a wet road. When it is wet, you must always expect a longer braking distance and accordingly drive more slowly.
- If there is a strong crosswind, e.g. if you are overtaking a truck, you can be driven off to the side after the overtaking maneuver and skid.

Own driving behavior:
- Aren't you staying in the blind spot? diagonally behind a car. It is so easy for the driver to overlook you.
- Always use a turn signal, even when no other vehicle can be seen.
- Always keep a sufficient distance from the person in front of you.
- Always take care of your environment. Especially in densely populated areas, children can always be expected who could run onto the street.

Other road users:
For your own safety, always expect another road user to make a mistake in driving. The most common mistakes are:
- Another road user takes the right of way from you.
- A road user turns left at an intersection, approaching them.
- You want to overtake, but the vehicle to be overtaken is driving implausibly slowly, unsettled or winding along the road. In this case it is to be expected that the driver is looking for something and suddenly turns left.
